Multi-Vehicle Crash at Hwy 99, Ave 7 Injures 7 in Madera County

Madera County, CA – On the morning of Friday, July 3, 2026, a three-vehicle collision resulting in an overturned big rig left seven people injured, according to KSEE/KGPE.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 6:30 AM on northbound Highway 99 at Avenue 7.

Authorities said a Toyota that had been stopped on the right shoulder pulled into the path of a northbound big rig. The big rig then crossed traffic lanes, collided with a second vehicle carrying five people, struck the center divider wall, and overturned.

All seven people involved, five in the second vehicle, one in the Toyota, and one in the big rig, sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The overturned big rig blocked all northbound lanes of Highway 99 at Avenue 7 during the response.

No additional details regarding the identities of those involved had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.

Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s comparative negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
