Support for Families Following a Fatal Lost Hills Car Accident.

Families may be left in one of the most challenging positions of their lives after losing a loved one in an unexpected car accident. On top of the medical bills that an individual incurred before their passing, a family may be left to care for funeral costs, lost income in a household, and other expenses that they never had to manage previously.

Several individuals may be able to file a wrongful death claim on behalf of a loved one after a fatal accident, including:

  • Children of the deceased
  • A spouse of the deceased
  • Parents of the deceased
  • A personal representative of the estate

Through an insurance claim or lawsuit, a family may be able to get back on their feet financially as they face such a sudden and immense loss. However, as with any type of claim, family members are urged to speak with an attorney as soon as possible before time runs out. California follows a strict statute of limitations of two years on these cases and this could bar a family from recovery if they wait too long.
