Man Loses Life in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Highway 1 in Watsonville

One person lost his life in a pedestrian accident that took place on a Watsonville highway on Friday morning. According to information provided by Kion 46 News Channel, the accident happened around 12:05 a.m. on Highway 1 near Main Street on the morning of March 22, 2024.

California Highway Patrol officials arrived on scene, where they discovered that a male pedestrian was walking across the northbound lanes of traffic when he was suddenly struck by a man driving a passenger vehicle in the number two lane. The driver remained on scene following the collision.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 20-year-old male pedestrian from Sonora was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to traumatic injuries. The 54-year-old driver of the passenger vehicle was not hurt due to the accident.

No further details have been released but police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
