California Highway Patrol responded to the scene, where they discovered that a motorcyclist and a Tesla were involved in a collision. A 39-year-old man was riding his motorcyclist on Avenue 9 when he started to slow down and make a turn. At that time, a 24-year-old man driving a Tesla slammed into the rear of the motorcyclist. The Tesla then went off the side of the road and crashed into a fence, where the vehicle overturned.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was hospitalized. The Tesla driver sustained minor injuries.
Police arrested the driver of the Tesla on charges of suspicion of driving under the influence.
