Legal Information about Intersection Accidents on Bullard Avenue in Fresno CA

A three-vehicle crash in northern Fresno over the weekend led to tragedy after four people lost their lives and several victims suffered injuries. FOX26-TV reported the accident occurred on Saturday night, just before midnight at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Bullard Avenue on December 26, 2020.

Fresno police say a white truck, a Mini Cooper, and a black Mustang were involved. After speaking with witnesses investigators believe the Mustang was speeding while traveling westbound on Bullard when it failed to stop for a red light and collided with the two other vehicles.

The driver of the Mustang had to be extricated from the vehicle and later died at the hospital. Two people inside the truck were pronounced dead on the scene. A third person in the truck died later at the hospital. The teen driver of the Mini Cooper was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive. Two other people also suffered injuries.

The Fresno Police Department continues to investigate the crash. They are trying to secure security footage from a nearby business to help with the case. They do not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.

Fresno Intersection Accident Dangers

Busy Fresno intersections can become the scene for dangerous accidents when careless drivers don’t follow the laws governing the flow of traffic. A distracted driver can miss a yellow light turning red or ignore someone in a crosswalk, suddenly putting other drivers and pedestrians at great risk.

The Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS) documented 759 vehicle collisions across Fresno in 2019. Of those accidents, 108 were listed as taking place at intersections. 150 injuries were attributed to intersection accidents for the year and a tragic nine people lost their lives.

Every motorist pulls up to an intersection having to trust that other drivers will stop when they are required to and proceed when they have the right-of-way. When these basic rules aren’t followed the results can be devastating for victims and their families.

Seeking Legal Advice After a Crash in Fresno

Victims and their families can’t always trust insurance companies to inform them of their rights after an accident. Insurance representatives for at-fault drivers may not bring up all the options available to victims and close family members. Options like wrongful death claims for families who have lost a loved one or claims for damages for victims trying to recover from serious injury. If you or a family member is ever involved in a serious crash be sure to speak to an attorney in your area. You can visit our page about car accidents in Fresno for more information.
