UPDATE: Pauline Terrazas, 67, of Bakersfield, ID’ed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Brundage Ln

Bakersfield, CA – On the evening of Sunday, June 21, 2026, a pedestrian collision resulted in the death of Pauline Terrazas, 67, of Bakersfield, according to KBAK.

The Bakersfield Police Department reports that the accident took place around 9:15 PM in the 600 block of Brundage Lane.

Authorities said a man was driving a white Ram pickup eastbound on Brundage Lane when Terrazas entered the roadway northbound within an unmarked crosswalk, and the two collided.

Terrazas sustained major injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Kern County Coroner’s Office formally identified her following her death.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Driver impairment and excessive speed do not appear to have been factors in the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bakersfield Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing.

Pedestrian Fatalities and Wrongful Death Claims

Drivers have a duty of care towards pedestrians, which includes being vigilant for those travelling by foot and, if a collision occurs, staying with the victim, alerting emergency responders, and cooperating with authorities investigating the crash.

For those who lose a loved one in a pedestrian accident, filing a wrongful death claim with the assistance of an experienced attorney can provide compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, and other related damages.
