Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Brundage Ln in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA – On the evening of Sunday, June 21, 2026, a pedestrian collision in the 600 block of Brundage Lane resulted in a woman losing her life, according to KBAK.

The Bakersfield Police Department reports that the accident took place around 9:15 PM.

Authorities said an adult male was driving a pickup truck on Brundage Lane when a woman entered the roadway within an unmarked crosswalk, and the two collided. The woman sustained major injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Driver impairment and excessive speed do not appear to have been factors in the crash.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the woman following notification of next of kin. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bakersfield Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing.

Pedestrian Fatalities and Wrongful Death Claims

Drivers have a duty of care towards pedestrians, which includes being vigilant for those travelling by foot and, if a collision occurs, staying with the victim, alerting emergency responders, and cooperating with authorities investigating the crash.

For those who lose a loved one in a pedestrian accident, filing a wrongful death claim with the assistance of an experienced attorney can provide compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, and other related damages.
