Visalia, CA – On the evening of Saturday, December 13, 2025, a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a woman who was ejected from an SUV, according to KSEE.
The Visalia Police Department reports that the accident took place around 9:20 PM on Riggin Avenue west of Akers Street.
Officers arrived to find a light-colored SUV that had crashed into a telephone pole and an unconscious woman lying in the roadway. First responders immediately provided life-saving medical aid at the scene, but the woman later lost her life due to the injuries she sustained. Authorities said she was the only passenger in the vehicle and was ejected either through a side window or the sunroof.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 38-year-old Christina Torres, was not injured. Police arrested Torres on suspicion of driving under the influence following the crash.
The Visalia Police Department Traffic Unit took over the investigation and is continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision. Anyone with information related to the incident has been asked to contact the department.
