Bakersfield, CA – On the morning of Wednesday, October 22, 2025, two women suffered major injuries following a head-on crash on Edison Road, according to KGET.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the collision occurred around 6:19 AM near Muller Road.

Authorities said a 50-year-old woman was traveling south on Edison Road, north of Muller Road, while a 21-year-old woman was heading north on the same stretch. 

For reasons still under investigation, the northbound vehicle crossed into the opposing lane and struck the southbound car head-on. The force of the impact left both vehicles heavily damaged and blocked traffic in both directions.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and provided immediate medical attention before transporting both women to Kern Medical with major injuries. Their current conditions have not been released.

CHP officials said alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the collision. The exact cause remains under investigation as officers continue to gather evidence and witness statements from the scene.
