Fresno, CA – Alejandro Orozco Jr., 22, of Parlier, has been identified as the driver who suffered fatal injuries in a high-speed crash on Highway 41 on the morning of Tuesday, March 4, 2025, according to The Fresno Bee.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident was discovered around 6:15 AM near the transition from southbound Highway 41 to southbound Highway 99.
Investigators say Orozco was driving a Toyota Camry at a high rate of speed when the vehicle veered off the roadway, traveled up an embankment, and crashed into a concrete pillar.
Emergency responders found him unresponsive inside the vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed he was the sole occupant and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Earlier in the morning, CHP received a call from Toyota Roadside Assistance about the vehicle, but officers searching the area did not locate it. The wrecked car was later discovered by an officer conducting a separate traffic stop.
The crash led to traffic delays as investigators worked to determine the cause. Officials have not ruled out speed, fatigue, or a medical emergency as factors in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
