On Friday night, a woman lost her life in a fatal pedestrian accident in Hanford. Your Central Valley reported that the accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Front Street near Oak Avenue on the night of March 8, 2024.
When police responded to the scene, they found that a woman was walking westbound ahead of an orange GMC Sierra. For reasons that are not yet known, the driver of the GMC ran into the pedestrian. The driver allegedly remained on scene following the crash.
Several emergency responders, including paramedics, were dispatched to the scene. The female pedestrian sustained major injuries and was rushed to Adventist Health Hanford. She tragically passed away while there due to her injuries.
California Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident.
