California Highway Patrol responded to the scene close to Olive Drive, where they discovered that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle as they were walking in the second traffic lane. The impact was so forceful that it propelled the pedestrian into another lane of traffic, where they were struck by a second and third vehicle.
Paramedics arrived on scene to help the pedestrian, who has been identified as an adult male. He was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was allegedly injured in the accident.
The first driver who struck the pedestrian fled the scene without stopping. Police were unable to provide a description of the driver or their vehicle.
California Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the collision at this time.
