When it comes to areas where pedestrians are most prevalent in Fresno, intersections are among the most common. In most major intersections in Fresno, there are crosswalks for pedestrians to cross the street safely. Though these areas are supposed to be safe for those who choose to walk from one area to the next, drivers are not always paying attention to the roads around them in these areas. A pedestrian accident can happen within seconds as a result.
Pedestrians tend to sustain serious and life-altering injuries in accidents. However, for some, lives are taken in the blink of an eye. The financial strain that a pedestrian accident can have on a family’s life can be severe, which is why they should always be aware of their options – even if a hit-and-run took a loved one’s life.

Support for Families After a Fatal Fresno Pedestrian Accident
Hit-and-run collisions are some of the most complex cases, as a driver is not always found by police. When the driver is not located, families may have to seek damages from uninsured motorist coverage through the insurance company. If the driver is apprehended, a wrongful death lawsuit may be the best way to recover damages. Damages can include any of the following for a family in need:
- Medical expenses a loved one incurred
- Lost income and future lost wages
- Pain and suffering
- Funeral or burial expenses
Because a wrongful death claim can be complicated and certain deadlines must be met, it is crucial that you seek legal assistance as you move forward.
