Fresno, CA – On the evening of Monday, June 9, 2026, a collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian resulted in Rosenda Ibarra, 55, of Fresno, losing her life, according to KSEE/KGPE
The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident took place around 9:30 PM at the intersection of Maple and Garland Avenues.
Authorities said the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Maple Avenue when he collided with Ibarra, who was in the middle of the road. The impact was described as severe, with officers noting that Ibarra sustained catastrophic injuries.
Officers arrived to find the motorcycle separated from its driver, and Ibarra was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries and was cooperating with investigators. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office formally identified Ibarra following her death.
Maple Avenue was closed while the Fresno Police Department’s collision reconstruction unit continued the investigation. The circumstances leading up to the collision had not been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
