Stockton, CA – On the morning of Tuesday, April 15, 2026, a single-vehicle motorcycle collision resulted in the death of Ernesto Rodriguez, according to ABC10, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 6:34 AM near the intersection of East Main Street and South Oro Avenue.
Authorities said Rodriguez was operating a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle at a reported high speed when he lost control for unknown reasons. The motorcycle struck a fence, ejecting Rodriguez onto the ground. Emergency medical personnel performed life-saving measures at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:08 AM.
Investigators have not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the collision. Rodriguez’s father identified him following the crash and indicated that the family is working to raise funds for burial expenses. A tow was requested for the motorcycle following the conclusion of on-scene proceedings. The investigation remains ongoing.
