California City, CA – A single-vehicle rollover crash near Mojave on the night of Tuesday, February 3, 2026, resulted in fatal injuries to Baylee Nicole Anderson, 24, of California City, according to KGET, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.

The crash happened around 9:46 PM along California City Boulevard, west of Highway 14. CHP Mojave Area officers said Anderson was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and overturned.

Investigators said Anderson was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two children were also inside the vehicle. Authorities said both appeared to be uninjured, but they were transported to a hospital as a precautionary measure to be evaluated for possible injuries. CHP officials believe Anderson was the children’s mother.

Emergency radio traffic indicated the vehicle came to rest on its roof off the roadway, and responders initially reported a woman pinned beneath the vehicle. One child was reportedly pulled from the car by a reporting party before emergency crews arrived, and a second infant was later confirmed to be inside the vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No additional information about contributing factors has been released.
