Fresno, CA – On the late evening of Tuesday, October 28, 2025, a single-vehicle crash claimed the lives of a 21-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl, according to The Fresno Bee, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 11:00 PM on Belmont Avenue, west of Brawley Avenue.
Investigators said the driver, a 21-year-old woman, was traveling at a high rate of speed in a white Kia when she failed to stop for a sign at Brawley Avenue. The vehicle turned abruptly, left the roadway, and collided with a power pole, several trees, fencing, and a parked vehicle before coming to rest in a nearby trucking yard.
The driver died at the scene. Two passengers, a 14-year-old girl and a 27-year-old man, sustained major injuries and were transported to a hospital. The teenage girl later died from her injuries, while the man remains hospitalized in serious condition, according to CHP.
Preliminary findings indicate that the driver and front passenger were wearing seat belts, while the rear passenger was not. Authorities have not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal collision.
