Tyrone Lee, 30, Killed in Manning Ave, Hwy 99 Crash in Fresno County

Fresno County, CA – Authorities have identified 30-year-old Tyrone Lee of Elk Grove as the driver who lost his life in the early hours of Thursday, March 27, 2025, when a high-speed crash ejected him from his vehicle and he was struck by another car, according to The Fresno Bee.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 12:30 AM near Manning Avenue and Highway 99.

Authorities say that Lee was driving a westbound Acura MDX on Manning Avenue at a high rate of speed when the vehicle struck two raised concrete curbs. The impact sent the vehicle airborne, carrying it approximately 120 feet down an embankment before landing on the dirt shoulder of Highway 99.

Lee was ejected from the vehicle and landed in the northbound lanes of the highway, where he was struck by a passing Nissan Sentra. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. It is unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
