Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Highway 190 in Porterville Leads to Arrest

January 2, 2025, Porterville, CA: A fatal hit-and-run pedestrian crash led to one death and an arrest in Porterville on Thursday.

Police confirmed that a driver was traveling in a 2012 Audi A4 while a pedestrian was crossing the highway. The driver of the Audi struck the pedestrian and continued westbound without stopping.

The pedestrian, identified only as an adult male, was seriously injured and transported to Sierra Medical Center. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.

Police later located the Audi near Poplar Avenue and found the driver, identified as an 85-year-old Porterville woman. She was arrested for her role in the hit-and-run accident.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
