September 6, 2024, Fresno, CA: On Friday afternoon, a woman tragically lost her life in a fatal big rig accident on a Fresno highway.
According to information provided by KMPH, the accident took place on Highway 180 around the area of Whitesbridge Avenue. A woman was traveling north on the highway in her Toyota Camry when she went through the intersection. A big rig hauling pistachios was traveling through at the same time, causing it to slam into the driver’s side of the Toyota.
Both the Toyota and the truck were badly damaged as a result. Pistachios were dumped all over the highway due to the collision.
The driver of the truck was not injured. The driver of the Toyota, identified as a 61-year-old woman, was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to her injuries.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
