Support for Families Following Fatal Los Angeles Pedestrian Accidents:
It is not easy for a family to move forward financially after they have suffered the unexpected loss of a loved one in a pedestrian accident. As a family grieves, they should never have to deal with the stressful aftermath of losing a loved one, including the bills that continue to pile up at times. With the help of a wrongful death attorney, you may discover that you and your family are eligible for some of the following damages:
- Medical expenses your loved one incurred before passing
- Lost wages in a household
- Pain and suffering damages
- Funeral and burial-related costs
- Loss of consortium/companionship
It is crucial to remember that, even in this time of immense grief, there are deadlines you must meet if you choose to move forward with an insurance claim or lawsuit on behalf of a loved one. In California, the statute of limitations is two years from the time of your loved one’s passing before you are barred from filing a claim.
