California Highway Patrol arrived on scene, where a preliminary investigation found that a man was headed south in his Nissan Sentra while another man was walking southbound on the road in front of the Nissan. The driver did not stop in time and collided with the pedestrian.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene after the accident. The 55-year-old male pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to his injuries. The 36-year-old male driver of the Nissan was not hurt but remained on scene.
No further details have been released at this time. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
