On February 23, 2024, a truck and a van had a head on collision on Avenue 7 in Madera County. Tragically, 7 people in the van died and 1 was transported to Fresno Community Regional Medical Center. The truck driver also died. KMPH reports that Juvenal Jacobo Talavera was one of the crash victims.
According to The Fresno Bee, the California Highway Patrol said it appears that the truck may have crossed the center line, crashing into the van full of farmworkers.
