Two people were killed in a fatal semi-truck accident that took place at an intersection in Fresno. According to a report from ABC30, the collision happened at an unknown time at the intersection of Annadale Avenue and Chestnut Avenue on Monday, January 29, 2024.
California Highway Patrol responded to the scene, where they discovered that a semi-truck and a pickup truck were involved in the collision. The semi-truck was allegedly headed west on Annadale when the driver started to make a turn onto Chestnut at the intersection. A pickup truck was unable to stop in time and slammed into the semi-truck from the north. The pickup truck was pinned underneath as a result.
Paramedics rushed to the scene to help the man and woman who were inside the pickup truck. They were both tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to the extent of their injuries. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
Officers have said that the accident may have been caused by foggy conditions but they are still looking into this.
