A man was injured in a pedestrian accident that took place around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday in Fresno. According to ABC30, the accident happened at a bus stop located at the intersection of South Maple Avenue and East Church Avenue on the evening of January 14, 2024.
Police discovered that a dark sedan was traveling near the intersection when it slammed into the back of a pickup truck. The driver of the truck lost control, crashing into a bus stop located next to a convenience store. At the time of the accident, a man was standing next to the bus stop and was struck by the pickup truck, being pinned underneath. The driver of the sedan kept driving without stopping.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene. The pedestrian, identified as a man in his 40s, was injured as a result of the accident. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Police later found the driver of the sedan involved in the accident and detained them. They could now be facing charges related to felony hit-and-run for their role in the accident.
