Chowchilla is a city located between busy Fresno and Merced, with major highways running through it including Highway 233 and Highway 99. As such, it is no surprise that traffic becomes incredibly busy multiple times throughout the week. With large trucks and passenger vehicles sharing the roads, a serious collision involving multiple vehicles could happen at any time.

In the event of an accident involving large big rigs, serious injuries and fatal results can easily occur. Filing a Wrongful Death Claim After a Chowchilla Truck Accident

When an accident occurs between several large trucks and passenger vehicles, the results can be devastating. This is due to the fact that trucks weigh tens of thousands of pounds more than your average passenger vehicle, which means that these accidents can be forceful and traumatic. You may have a claim against one or more parties such as a truck’s driver, a trucking company, or a manufacturer.

You may be eligible for some of the following damages when you bring a wrongful death claim after a truck accident:

  • Medical bills your loved one has previously incurred
  • Loss of income
  • Funeral and burial costs
  • Pain and suffering
  • Punitive damages in some cases
  • Loss of companionship or consortium

A family member or personal representative of the estate can bring a claim on behalf of a loved one whose life was lost in an accident. However, family members are urged to act quickly so that they do not miss out on any financial opportunities along the way.
