On Sunday, January 14, 2024, a serious head-on collision with injuries occurred in Bakersfield. According to a report from Bakersfield Now, the accident happened around 5:04 a.m. on Panama Lane just east of Oswell Street on Sunday morning and involved two vehicles.
When California Highway Patrol officials arrived on scene, they found that a man was headed east on Panama in a 2022 Cadillac while a 62-year-old man was headed west in a 2013 GMC. For reasons that are not yet known, both of the vehicles collided head-on into each other.
Paramedics and several other emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Both drivers suffered major injuries as a result of the crash. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals but their conditions are not yet known.
It is believed that a portion of the road was blocked for some time after the accident.
