On Wednesday night, a woman lost her life in a tragic pedestrian accident that occurred in Mojave. KGETreported that the collision happened on California City Boulevard around the area of Deep Well Street on the night of November 29, 2023.
According to California City Police, a 27-year-old woman was driving her vehicle in the area when she pulled onto the roadside and started to run across traffic due to reasons that are still under investigation. The woman was struck by an oncoming vehicle that was unable to stop in time.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were called to the scene. The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to the extent of her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was allegedly not injured and remained on scene following the crash. They were not believed to be speeding or under the influence at the time of the accident.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
