Victims of these accidents are urged to speak with a legal advocate, as they could benefit from doing so as they move forward with a personal injury claim.

Support for Victims of Hit-and-Run Accidents in Taft

Hit-and-run pedestrian accidents happen more commonly than we would like to think. When these accidents do happen, victims wonder where they can turn for the legal assistance they deserve. How do you bring a claim against a party that has fled the scene of an accident?

If the driver of the vehicle was found and apprehended by police, the case is simple: You can bring a personal injury claim against the at-fault driver. However, if they were never discovered after your accident, you may have a different type of claim. You can bring a claim for underinsured or uninsured motorist coverage with your auto insurance carrier. Through this route, you may be able to recover damages to help with some of the following aspects:

  • Medical expenses you have incurred or expect to incur
  • Lost income and future lost wages
  • Pain and suffering damages
  • Therapy and rehabilitation costs

You should never delay when it comes to bringing your claim, as you do not want to miss out on any financial opportunities that may be available to you after an accident.
