When California Highway Patrol officials arrived on scene, they discovered that a 73-year-old woman was traveling east on Enterprise Street in her Saturn while a Jeep was traveling east on Tulare Avenue and attempted to go through the intersection. The Saturn and the Jeep collided with one another due to reasons that are still under investigation.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The 73-year-old driver of the Saturn was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the same vehicle was rushed to the hospital with injuries but is expected to be okay. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident.
