A motorcyclist suffered severe injuries after being struck by an object that fell from a truck in northwest Bakersfield Monday Afternoon. KGET-TV reported the accident happened in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 just south of 7th Standard Road on November 8, 2021.
The California Highway Patrol says that a rider was struck by a part that fell off a truck. The motorcyclist was knocked from the bike and landed on the right-hand side of the road.
The motorcyclists reportedly suffered major injuries. Two off-duty Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputies and the Delano Police Department Chief happened to be nearby and administered aid on the scene.
Investigators are still determining the circumstances that led up to the accident.
