Accidents at Intersections on South Union Avenue in Bakersfield CA

Drivers in Bakersfield can face hazards from other motorists along any two or four-lane road around the city. The threat level only increases at two and four-way intersections where motorists may be trying to enter fast-moving traffic on a major road.

Drivers at night can be confused by headlights and misjudge the distance of an approaching vehicle. They might also be paying too little attention to traffic in all directions and proceed when they don’t have the right-of-way.

These accidents can involve any other motorist on the road and lead to major injuries and in some tragic cases, cost victims their lives.

Support for Families After a Bakersfield Accident

Accident victims and their families are allowed to file claims after accidents. This is permitted by California law in order to protect injured victims or families grieving the loss of a loved one from having to face the costs that arise after a serious accident alone.

For close relatives who have lost a beloved family member in an accident, a wrongful death claim can be filed. This civil claim seeks to secure financial support for the remaining family members who will be trying to cover the costs of a funeral and burial. Family members will likely also see enormous bills for emergency response and medical care administered before the victim passed away.

A wrongful death claim is directed at the at-fault driver’s auto insurance provider. This claim could also protect the family in the years to come when they’ll have to survive without the financial support a victim had always provided through his or her weekly paychecks.
