A man tragically lost his life after getting hit by a vehicle in southern Bakersfield Tuesday evening. KGET-TV says police were called to the 5400 block of Taft Highway shortly after 8:45 p.m. on August 31, 2021.
Officers report they found a man down on the north shoulder of the road. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver involved in the collision remained on the scene to cooperate with investigators. Bakersfield Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident.
