Pedestrian Accidents Along 4th Street in Bakersfield CA

Pedestrians in Bakersfield face a difficult journey in almost every part of the city. Poorly designed crosswalks, stretches of road with no sidewalks, and careless drivers all leave people on foot vulnerable. Drivers traveling too fast or just too distracted to stop for any pedestrian they may come upon can cause devastating accidents.

Drivers in California must always travel at speeds appropriate for conditions and a pedestrian traveling the roadways or an accident scene ahead are all situations when motorists should automatically slow down considerably. People in cars, trucks, and SUVS must show enough care to always proceed at an appropriate speed to avoid anyone traveling nearby.

Support for Pedestrian Victims and Families in Bakersfield

Families will face extreme hardships after a loved one is suddenly taken from them in a heartbreaking pedestrian accident. The emotional anguish will be difficult, but families can also suffer financial woes that might threaten to bankrupt close relatives.

The family will be concerned about the costs of a memorial service and burial. They’ll also face these expenses after losing the guidance and financial support the victim provided the family. When a family finds themselves in tragic circumstances, they are allowed to file a wrongful death claim against an at-fault driver’s car insurance provider. This claim would list everything a family has been put through and would ask the insurance adjuster to provide support to stabilize the family’s finances now and in the future.

Pedestrian victims who survive and are trying to complete recovery from a serious injury are also permitted to file a claim against the insurance company representing the responsible driver. Victims are allowed to ask for help with every hospital bill and get assistance in replacing their lost wages while missing work.
