Accidents Involving A Hit-And-Run Driver in Modesto CA

Careless drivers make traffic in every city a bit more scary each day and Modesto is no exception. An inattentive driver can fiddle with a radio dial or actually try to type out a full text while steering a two-ton vehicle with no regard for the road. Sometimes it’s simply a drowsy driver who is losing focus on the lanes that misses spotting another traveler and suddenly lands multiple people in a dangerous crash.

These careless and sometimes reckless acts are even more heartbreaking when drivers who cause dangerous accidents decide it’s better to drive away from a scene rather than stay and provide help to victims and accept responsibility. The consequences for a hit-and-run driver can be severe, but not as severe as the possible outcomes for the victims put at risk in a collision.

Woman Killed in Hit-And-Run Collision in Modesto

A tragic accident claimed the life of a woman just west of downtown Modesto early Wednesday morning. ABC10-TV reports the collision occurred at the 300 Block of Maze Boulevard between Martin Luther King Drive and Madison Street on June 23, 2021.

Modesto police investigating the scene say that a woman died as a result of the crash. A man was also injured in the collision. His condition hasn’t been released.

A driver and vehicle thought to be involved in the accident left the scene. However, officers were later able to detain someone in connection with the crash.

Finding Help for Victims and Families After a Modesto Hit-And-Run Accident

Families who must continue on with life without the love and support of a loved one can soon be targeted by the bills that an accident can leave behind. The expense of a memorial service and burial, ambulance fees, and other estate settlement costs can hit a family just as they lose the financial support the victim had always provided.

A family trapped in such a tragic situation can turn to a wrongful death lawsuit to ask the at-fault driver’s car insurer for assistance with these costs. This civil claim can also seek to secure the family financially in the future when the deceased victim’s guidance will be greatly missed.

For surviving victims of an accident, a claim for damages will request help from an insurance provider for all hospital and rehabilitation bills. The claim can also work to replace lost wages while a victim misses time at work. A hit-and-run suspect may face a criminal trial, but a civil case can move forward in order for a victim and a family to try to collect the support they need.

Once a hit-and-run suspect is identified, victims and family members can move forward with a claim for damages to seek support for their hardships.
