Motorcyclists traveling Fremont can face many dangers and many of those hazards stem from drivers who aren’t paying proper attention to the road. Distracted and careless drivers can take too brief of a look in any direction and miss seeing the smaller profile of a motorcyclist. Drivers can proceed on a glance and end up in front of a rider or end up taking a lane from a motorcycle right beside them.
Fremont Police witness the dangers that careless and reckless drivers bring to local roads every day. They say they’ve seen four fatal vehicle accidents so far in 2021.
In 2020, the city recorded 59 collisions involving motorcycles. Those accidents left 59 people injured and tragically cost two people their lives.
Fatal Collision Between a Car And Motorcycle in Fremont
A man on a motorcycle tragically lost his life after a collision with a car Saturday Afternoon in Fremont’s Mission San Jose District. The Fremont Police said in a news release that the accident occurred around 5:36 p.m. at the intersection of Dalgo Road and Mission Boulevard on April 10, 2021.
Officers say the 29-year-old driver of a Toyota Prius was traveling eastbound on Dalgo Road and pulled into the intersection to make a left turn onto Mission. The 50-year-old motorcyclist traveling southbound on Mission struck the Prius on the driver’s side.
Medical aid was provided to all parties involved but the motorcyclist, sadly, could not be saved. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the Prius remained at the location to cooperate with investigators. The use of alcohol or drugs was not believed to have been a factor in the accident. The cause of the crash has not been released. If anyone has any information about the accident they are asked to call the Fremont Police Department Traffic Unit.
Help for Families After Motorcycle Accidents in Fremont
Families will be devastated by the news of a tragedy after a motorcycle accident. It’s often the result of a crash that could have been prevented with a little more care shown by a driver.
If a driver is found at fault in a motorcycle collision, family members are permitted to move forward with a wrongful death claim against the driver’s car insurance coverage. This claim can be filed by a spouse, domestic partner, or children of the victim on behalf of the entire family. In some cases, parents, and brothers or sisters of the deceased can also file.
A wrongful death claim can ask for support for the costs of a funeral, estate settlement, and emergency response fees. The financial support the victim had always provided the family with his or her job will also have been lost. This loss can be reimbursed along with the wages the deceased would have continued to bring home in the years to come.
Nothing can bring a loved one back after a tragic accident, but family members should be protected from the financial hardships that can follow a traffic collision.
