Intersections can be scary places for cautious drivers because they are often forced to place some trust in other drivers as they proceed through. Another motorist can ignore a stop sign and take a chance with everyone else’s safety.
Intersections are common places for accidents as vehicles from two or more directions are brought into close proximity and driver focus is put to the test. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found that about 40% of all accidents in the nation occur at intersections. Intersections controlled by stop signs accounted for 31% of those accidents.
A driver can either be acting reckless and ignore the laws governing intersections or more often they aren’t paying enough attention and end up making a mistake that can put others at risk of a scary impact.
Two-Vehicle Crash and Power Pole Impact in Fresno County

The California Highway Patrol says that one driver ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. The impact sent one of the vehicles into a power pole to shear the pole in half. There were multiple people who were hurt and taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The crash knocked out power to around 200 customers. The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
Help for Fresno County Intersection Accident Victims
A serious accident can leave victims at the mercy of insurance providers as they try to complete recovery and find a way to pay their enormous medical bills and make up for missed time at work. The at-fault driver’s insurance should be called upon for that help, but insurance companies can look to save a buck rather than giving victims a fair settlement offer.
Victims can file a claim for damages against an insurance company to hold them accountable for their driver’s mistake. You shouldn’t have to pay for your hospital invoices resulting from the collision and if you end up needing more medical care or therapy down the road, those costs should also be covered.
Insurance companies can delay responding to your claim to try to get you desperate enough to accept the first unfair settlement offer they send to you. They can also investigate your past driving records and your past injury history to try to discredit your account of what happened. These factors have nothing to do with your current accident and having an attorney fighting for your rights can help protect against these tactics.
