Support for Families After a Kern County Head-On Collision

In an instant, a tragic car accident can claim a life and leave a family behind to mourn. The loved ones remaining should be given time to honor the memory of the lost victim.

Nothing can bring back a loved one, but it’s only fair that the family left behind get help to avoid financial hardships now and in the years to come. Their loved one didn’t cause the accident and the family shouldn’t bear the burden of the consequences alone. Families may face hospital bills, ambulance costs, and funeral expenses in as little as a few weeks after a deadly accident.

Filing a lawsuit against an at-fault driver’s insurance company can be an important step for the future well-being of the family. Loved ones will have lost the paychecks the victim would have provided the family through their job. They have also lost the emotional support and guidance the deceased would have provided in the years to come. A claim for damages can seek to recover compensation for some of these factors and more to protect the family from financial issues down the road.

This wrongful death lawsuit could be filed by a close relative like a spouse or domestic partner or children of the victim on behalf of the rest of the family. An attorney can also represent the family in this matter.
