Find Out If You Need a Lawyer After Being Sent into a Collision by a GoShare Driver
If you suffer a serious injury in an accident caused by a delivery driver, it’s a good sign that you would probably earn more in a settlement with a lawyer’s help.
Serious injuries like broken bones mean that recovery costs skyrocket and insurers become more reluctant to accept full blame and cover all damages. A skilled California GoShare accident lawyer can fight back if insurance adjusters try to blame you for an accident or dismiss your injury as not all that bad. Having a strong lawyer is also a good idea when a major company like GoShare gets its own lawyers involved.
A lawyer can often help improve the outcome of your insurance claim when these types of injuries and others are involved.
- Bone fractures (e.g., broken arms, legs, ankle bones, hairline fractures)
- Soft tissue injuries such as muscle, ligament, and tendon strains
- Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs), including serious concussions
- Cuts and puncture wounds
- Facial lacerations, broken noses and jaws, teeth lost,
- Permanent disfigurements and scars
- Neck injuries and whiplash with pain that doesn’t go away quickly
- Back injuries and damage to the spinal column
- Hip, knee, and shoulder joint injuries
- Injuries suffered by a family member
Victims can always choose to handle their own claims, but they can fall prey to insurance tactics meant to trick them into accepting “lowball” offers. They may come away without 100% compensation and be left to pay remaining bills out of their own savings.

Discovering What You Can Demand in a GoShare Accident Claim
With a headquarters in San Diego, GoShare provides delivery in cities across California. There are options no matter what size of a delivery you need. From things like paint dropped off in a GoShare car or SUV. From items lumber dropped in your driveway by a GoShare pickup. From things like large furniture and even whole apartment or small home movers showing up with a box truck.
There are a lot of different vehicles at your disposal, and a lot of drivers at the wheel with various levels of experience making deliveries in heavy trucks and vans. Accidents can happen, and victims in other vehicles can be hurt. Victims would need to file claims against GoShare to ask for help with all recovery costs.
Your Maison Law attorney would be forming a complete list of everything you and your family have been through since the accident. These hardships and damages must be included when an insurance claim is submitted.
It alerts insurance companies to what you expect them to take responsibility for. Everything must be included, because anything forgotten becomes something GoShare and insurers can ignore. You won’t be compensated for anything you don’t include. Maison Law never wants to see these damages become your responsibility.
These and other factors must be compensated in a settlement check:
- Totals on current medical bills and those expected in the future.
- Any expenses associated with a permanent disability. The cost of support over a lifetime.
- The toll of physical pain.
- The toll of emotional trauma, including the anxiety and depression that can accompany a difficult recovery.
- Loss of enjoyment of life due to an injury, including having to give up hobbies and family activities, even vacations.
- Travel costs of making doctor’s appointments and seeing out-of-town specialists while unable to drive.
- The cost to get your vehicle working again or the money to replace it.
- All income and benefits are replaced for victims who haven’t been able to work.
- Wrongful death benefits for families who lose a loved one to an accident involving a delivery vehicle.
The Steps to Take After Being Struck by a Delivery Vehicle
The steps you take after a frightening accident with a GoShare box truck, pickup, or van can determine the level of support you get. The more evidence you secure, the stronger your position will be, and there’s a lot of evidence at the scene of the accident. What’s more, that evidence may disappear as soon as a scene is cleared and vehicles are towed away.
Always make sure you and your family are safe after an accident, then call 911 if anyone is hurt. Once the scene is secure and you feel strong enough, you can grab these and other details:
- Take pictures. Show the damage to all vehicles involved. Show lane markings and skid marks involved. Take photos of any visible injuries. Highlight any signs or logos on the truck that reveal who the truck driver works for. It’s not always clear that a driver was working for GoShare at the time. The vehicles can be unmarked. Sometimes drivers don’t want to admit they were working when an accident occurred. It’s important to note any signals that they work for someone.
- Swap information. Get the driver’s license and insurance information from the truck driver. Get the employee number of the driver if you can.
- Don’t talk about who was at fault on the scene. Never accept blame. Allow investigators and your attorney to help determine fault.
- Also, don’t say that you are all right. An insurer may use this comment to make it look like you were saying you weren’t injured. You may not really know the extent of your injuries until a day later, when your shock wears off.
- Find out how to contact witnesses. Your Maison Law representative will secure valuable testimony from them later.
- Note if there are any surveillance cameras on local businesses or homes. Look at the trucks and other vehicles involved to see if anyone had a dash cam.
Figuring Out Who Is Liable for a GoShare Accident
GoShare likes to keep its drivers designated as independent contractors. This means they can leave the blame for any accidents to their drivers. But GoShare makes money from its drivers and their constant trips on public roads, so they can’t always deny blame.
GoShare does carry some liability insurance, but it’s meant to make up for any insurance shortfalls in the driver’s personal policy.
GoShare Driver’s Insurance: GoShare asks that its GIG drivers (independent contractors who use apps to get delivery jobs and transportation) carry their own insurance. This is the first place accident victims would have to seek support. The problem is that a normal car insurance company will usually reject a claim if a policyholder is in an accident while driving for an employer. And the coverage can be the bare minimum, which may not cover all of the victim’s recovery costs. GoShare “strongly urge” employees to secure commercial liability insurance for their jobs. But that’s no guarantee drivers will be covered properly and be able to help those they hurt.
GoShare Accident Insurance: The delivery company does provide supplemental liability insurance for drivers. It’s only in effect when drivers are on a delivery. The support is only meant to kick in if the driver’s personal insurance doesn’t provide enough or if the insurer rejects the claim.
A skilled Maison Law attorney can determine who to send a claim to (in some cases, multiple claims). A lawyer can also find ways to hold GoShare responsible, even when they try to deflect all blame. They should always be accountable for the drivers they hire and the dangers their business practices cause for everyone else on California roads.
