September 2, 2026, Merced, CA: Major injuries were reported in a car accident between two vehicles at a Merced intersection on Wednesday.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 12:28 p.m. at the intersection of Bloss Avenue and SR-165. Police confirmed that a Jeep and a VW collided at the intersection due to reasons that remain under investigation, leading to extensive damages.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties suffered major injuries in the collision. They were taken to the hospital for treatment, though their current condition is not yet known.
