August 8, 2026, Selma, CA: A big rig accident that led to injuries took place on a Selma highway on Saturday morning.
According to Visalia Stringer, the accident happened around 8:40 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 near the Floral offramp. Police confirmed that a big rig tanker truck hauling gas was traveling in the area when the vehicle rear-ended a pickup truck due to reasons that are not yet known. There was a fire involved in the accident.
Several emergency responders were present on scene. The driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital. The driver of the big rig was not hurt.
Police closed down the southbound lanes of the highway for some time until the scene was cleared.
