August 7, 2026, Visalia, CA: A four-vehicle collision on a Visalia highway involving a Department of Corrections van occurred last Friday.
According to Visalia Stringer, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of CA-198 around the area of Shirk. Police confirmed that four vehicles, including a Department of Corrections van, were involved in the accident. Photos taken from the scene showed extensive front-end damage to several vehicles.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene. Several people were loaded into ambulances to be taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. However, the injuries were not thought to be serious in nature.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision continues at this time.
