July 24, 2026, Bakersfield, CA: A two-vehicle accident that led to injuries took place on a Bakersfield roadway on Friday afternoon.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 2:38 p.m. in the westbound lanes of SR-178. Police confirmed that a red SUV and a gray SUV collided with each other on the roadway, causing one of the vehicles to roll over.
A total of two people sustained injuries as a result of the accident. They were treated on scene by paramedics, though it is not known if they were hospitalized.
The roadway was blocked in the area for some time. Tow trucks worked to remove the damaged vehicles.
