Tulare County, CA – On the evening of Friday, July 17, 2026, a head-on collision resulted in the deaths of a Porterville man and a Terra Bella woman, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 9:45 PM on Road 236 just south of Avenue 104.
Authorities said the 29-year-old Porterville man was driving a 2001 Ram 1500 northbound on Road 236 at a high rate of speed when, for reasons yet to be determined, his vehicle drifted across the solid double yellow lines and entered the southbound lane the wrong way, directly into the path of a 2004 Ford Fusion driven by the 55-year-old Terra Bella woman traveling southbound.
The Ram struck the left front side of the Ford. The force of the impact caused the Ram to overturn, ejecting its driver. Both drivers died at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The identities of those involved had not been officially released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
