Fatal Pedestrian Crash at Olive Ave, Hwy 99 in Fresno

Fresno, CA – On the evening of Wednesday, July 1, 2026, a pedestrian collision resulted in a person losing their life at Olive Avenue and Highway 99, according to KSEE/KGPE.

The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident took place around 10:00 PM.

Authorities said the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing in the crosswalk. The driver made the initial call to police and remained at the scene. 

The victim was found in the intersection, conscious and breathing, when officers arrived, and emergency medical care was provided before the individual was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. The pedestrian later died at the hospital.

The incident was the second fatal collision to take place in Fresno on Wednesday evening. The victim was believed to be between 35 and 40 years old but had not been officially identified at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
