Stanislaus County, CA – On the evening of Saturday, June 27, 2026, a three-vehicle collision resulted in the death of one driver and left multiple others injured near the Del Rio area, according to KCRA.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place after 9:30 PM on Ladd Road east of Tully Road.
Authorities said a 2026 Porsche coupe was traveling westbound on Ladd Road at a high rate of speed when it struck the rear of a 2016 Ram pickup truck traveling in the same direction. The force of the impact caused the Ram to veer off the road and overturn.
The Porsche then continued in a southwesterly direction, crossed into the eastbound lane, and collided head-on with a 2023 Mercedes SUV traveling eastbound. The Porsche became fully engulfed in flames following the second collision and blocked the roadway.
The driver of the Porsche, a 57-year-old Modesto man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 38-year-old Manteca man, sustained major injuries and was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center.
The Ram was carrying six occupants, including a 27-year-old Manteca man who was driving, a 42-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman, two teenage girls aged 14 and 16, and a 2-year-old girl. An unknown number of the Ram occupants received non-life-threatening injuries.
Both occupants of the Mercedes sustained major injuries and were transported to local hospitals.
Modesto Fire Department crews treated eight patients in total. The crash prompted road closures for several hours. CHP believes alcohol may have been a factor in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
Personal Injury Claims & Comparative Negligence
Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s comparative negligence rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance, which can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.
