Fresno, CA – On the evening of Friday, May 29, 2026, a pedestrian hit-and-run resulted in the death of Precious Williams, 40, of Fresno, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident took place around 10:30 PM near Belmont and Chestnut Avenues.
Authorities said officers arrived to find Williams lying in the street with severe injuries to her upper torso and head. She was unconscious and not breathing at the time of the initial response and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
She died the following day. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office formally identified her following her death.
The area around Belmont and Chestnut Avenues was closed for several hours while officers investigated the collision. No arrest had been announced at the time of reporting.
