April 29, 2026, Fresno, CA: On Wednesday afternoon, a man lost his life in a big rig accident that took place at a Fresno repair yard.
According to Fresno County officials, the accident occurred at 4 p.m. at a repair yard located at Belmont Avenue and LaFayette Avenue. Police confirmed that a mechanic was working in the yard when he was struck by a big rig that was hooking up to a trailer. The man was pinned between the trailer and big rig.
The mechanic, identified as a man in his 20s, sustained major crush injuries. He tragically passed away on scene as a result of those injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
