The Sacramento Fire Department reports that the accident took place shortly after 4:00 PM in the 7900 block of Deerleaf Drive.

Authorities said fire crews responded to reports of a collision involving a structure and arrived to find a vehicle that had driven into the garage area of a home. The crash caused damage to the garage, the side wall of the house, and a nearby gas meter.

One person was transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. It had not been confirmed at the time of reporting whether the injured party was the driver of the vehicle or an occupant of the garage.

The cause of the crash had not been determined, and no additional details had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s comparative negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages through a personal injury claim.
