Kings County, CA – On the morning of Saturday, March 14, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of Cynthia Salinas, 27, of Huron, according to the Fresno Bee.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 6:52 AM on State Route 198 east of Jameson Avenue, near Lemoore Naval Air Station.
Authorities said Salinas was driving a blue Nissan Rogue westbound on State Route 198 at an undetermined speed when the vehicle drifted to the right shoulder. For unknown reasons, Salinas appeared to lose control of the Nissan and spun to the left across both lanes of traffic before going down a small embankment and rolling over, coming to rest on its wheels on the southern dirt shoulder of the highway.
Salinas was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and struck her head, sustaining fatal injuries. She was found on the ground next to the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined that she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office formally identified her following the incident.
Emergency medical services and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s comparative negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages through a wrongful death claim.
